Another expression in Bollinger's 100% Pinot Noir PN series, but this time the 2019 base vintage and Grand Cru village of Verzenay take centre stage. Reserve wines and fruit from other Bollinger terroirs complete the blend. Dosage is 6g/L, with maturation more than twice Champagne's minimum requirement.

What it’s like

Palate

More delicate and polished than TX17. Orchard fruit, red fruit and subtle exotic notes lead into Granny Smith apple, vine peach and blood orange. The texture is silky, while Verzenay contributes freshness, tension and a chalky, saline finish.

Monster Notes

Interesting comparison with the TX17 because they're almost exactly the same price. TX17 is more savoury and developed; VZ19 feels fresher, more elegant and fruit-driven. Same Bollinger idea, different personality. If I'm having roast meat, maybe TX17. Seafood and something lighter? I'll take VZ19. See — choosing Champagne can be quite fun one.
