What it’s like

Palate

Rich dark and blue fruit — blackberry, cassis and plum — with liquorice, floral, mineral and savoury notes. Full-bodied and concentrated, but fresher and more energetic than the heavier style historically associated with the estate.

Monster Notes

Now this is quite interesting. Troplong Mondot used to be known for big, powerful Saint-Émilion, but 2017 was the beginning of a more elegant direction. Still plenty of Merlot richness, just less muscle-flexing. At S$203 you're getting a serious Saint-Émilion with a long life ahead. Drink now with a good decant or hide it somewhere and forget about it for a few years.
