Palate
Deep and concentrated: blackcurrant, blackberry, graphite, cedar and earthy/mineral notes. The fruit is opulent, but fine tannins and freshness prevent it becoming clumsy.

Monster Notes
Different animal from the 2011 above. 2009 Pontet-Canet is big, rich and serious — one of the wines that really put the estate into another league. Yes, S$405 is quite a jump from the 2011. But you're paying for the vintage and the wine's reputation. If you want to understand why people became so excited about Pontet-Canet, this is the bottle.
