A 100% Pinot Noir from Claire Naudin of Domaine Henri Naudin-Ferrand in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune. The wine comes from high-altitude Burgundy vineyards and is made with a restrained approach to oak, allowing the Pinot Noir and its fragrant, savoury character to remain at the centre of the wine.

What it’s like

Palate

Fragrant and distinctly Burgundian: rose and floral notes alongside black cherry and raspberry. Lighter in colour than the Bordeaux wines around it, but smooth, savoury and full of flavour rather than thin.

Monster Notes

After all those Pauillacs, something completely different. 😂 This is Pinot Noir — lighter, more fragrant, more delicate. Don't expect a big Bordeaux punch. What I like is that there's plenty of flavour without heaviness, which makes it very easy on an Asian table. Roast duck, chicken, mushrooms… this one quite versatile.
