Château Troplong Mondot is a prestigious estate located in the Saint-Émilion appellation of Bordeaux, renowned for producing some of the most exceptional and sought-after wines in the region. The vineyard spans approximately 33 hectares, planted predominantly with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Château Troplong Mondot is celebrated for its rich, full-bodied wines, which are known for their depth, complexity, and elegant aging potential.
The 2017 Château Troplong Mondot features a deep garnet color and aromas of ripe blackberries, plums, cocoa, and tobacco. On the palate, it offers a full-bodied structure with velvety tannins, balanced acidity, and flavors of dark cherry, cassis, and dark chocolate. The finish is long and elegant, with hints of cedar and a refined minerality. This vintage highlights the estate’s blend of power and finesse, with excellent aging potential.
REFERENCE TASTING NOTE:
Troplong Mondot saw hardly any frostless than 10%. The 2017 Troplong Mondot is blended of 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc. Very deep purple-black in color, it offers up a cedar chest, cinnamon stick and cloves-laced nose with a core of crème de cassis, blackberry compote and preserved plums plus wafts of licorice, violets and sandalwood. Full-bodied, concentrated and sporting a firm frame of velvety tannins, it has a lively line lifting the densely packed fruit, finishing long and on a compelling savory note.
